Ovul Sezer is a behavioral a scientist and a stand-up comedian who observes life with science, wonder and humor.

During the day, she is an Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations at Cornell University. Late at night, she performs stand-up routines in comedy clubs. She applies the same observational tools to both jobs: She identifies a particular human behavior that that is odd, interesting, or confusing, and either study it in-depth using experiments or describe it with humor.

Professor Sezer earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in Applied Mathematics and her PhD from Harvard University in Organizational Behavior.

 

Awards & Recognitions

Professor Sezer’s dissertation research on impression management won the Harvard Business School Wyss Award for Excellence in Doctoral Research across all departments at Harvard Business School.

 

Professor Sezer is also selected to be Poet’s and Quants Best 40 Under 40 Business School MBA Professors in 2020.
